Prudencia Ayala (1885-1936)
In 1930, at at time when women still weren’t allowed to vote in the country, Prudencia Ayala, of indigenous heritage, ran for the presidency of El Salvador, making her the first woman in El Salvador and Latin America to do so. She ran on a platform of recognizing women’s rights, women’s suffrage, the recognition of illegitimate children, tackling corruption in public offices, support of labor unions, freedom of religion… really progressive ideas. Eventually the Supreme Court of El Salvador declared her campaign unconstitutional and denied her the right to run for president.
Women were not allowed to vote in El Salvador until 1950.

Well, since I haven’t posted any text in a while

I might as well do it now.
All I do is update with Instagram photos, so heres a brief list to sum up my life right now for those who are curious..(or bored and scrolling down their dash =P):

Finishing up school/coop in two weeks..June 15th to be exact ;)
Starting Summer school in July..if I can get my forms in on time!
Being lazy..and making up excuses as to why I deserve it haha
Had a crazyy weekend of volunteering on the 26th&27th (aswell as camping out) at the Odawa Pow Wow (photos coming soon..)
Going to Maniwaki, Quebec for the Pow Wow..EXCITED!

Just off the top of my head those are the main points.
If I had internet access on my laptop in more convenient places, I would definitely be online more..but my instagram photos will have to do for now!
